Abstract
In this study, we conducted hydraulic model experiments on the movable bed with sand traps downstream from the artificial reefs and grasped the change of the topography, flow, the total longshore sediment transport rate, and the longshore sediment transport rate by depth of water by installing artificial reefs. Under the conditions of these experiments, the distribution of longshore sediment transport rate had two peeks near the shoreline and in surf zone, longshore velocity ad longshore sediment transport rate downstream from the artificial reefs increased especially in surf zone by installing the artificial reefs, and local erosion and deposition occurred upstream from the artificial reefs.
