Abstract
In the Kugami area, along the Iwami Coast of Tottori Prefecture, the Sand-Pack method, which takes the utilization and landscape into consideration, was adopted and constracted as a countermeasure for dune collapse. In this study the effectiveness of Sand-Pack for restraining dune collapse was analyzed using CCTV images captured at a fixed point in the coastal direction of the shoreline in order to verify the effectiveness of utilizing CCTV for beach management. It was possible to monitor the occurrence and progress of the dune collapse within a dense time scale by analyzing the CCTV images installed in the coastal direction of the shoreline which showed its effectiveness for managing beaches. In addition, by installing the Sand-Pack, it was possible to suppress the progress of dune collapse against the wave which occurs several times a year, thereby showing its effectiveness as a measure to control dune collapse.
