Abstract

The possibility of forming a new femtec market was suggested at the June 2021 Cabinet meeting. It became necessary to discuss how to realise femtec industry promotion in the region to take advantage of this opportunity and achieve a breakthrough to grow the stagnant regional economyNote 2.

Using backcast thinking, the current situation was ascertained and issues for realising the ideal regional image (KGI) around 2030 were identified. Furthermore, a concept and concrete measures for commercialising the solutions to the problems and a strategy for industrial promotion were also created.

The above explained that the creation of a femtec industry in the Hokuriku region to support women’s health, both physically and mentally, is expected to contribute to the growth of both the economic and social value of the region, with the aim of promoting women’s activities, which Japan is lagging behind in.
