Abstract
A laboratory scale demonstration experiment was carried out for an iodine-sulfur thermochemical hydrogen production process. The material balance is determined by considering the experimental results of the acid formation, separation of the two phases and the acid decomposition. In a 24-hour continuous hydrogen production experiment with the rate of 1.2 dm3/h S.T.P., stoichiometric and stable production of hydrogen and oxygen was achieved. Little change of the composition of the process solution was confirmed by comparison before and after the experiment.
