Abstract
Experiments on absorption of water vapor by lithium bromide solution were made in insulated or externally cooled wetted-wall columns at low pressures. The equations of continuity, diffusion and energy which assume that only water diffuses in falling film are solved numerically. For representative data, the values of actual diffusivity are obtained so that absorption rate calculated from the three equations agrees with the experimental value, and these are similar to the results of Fujita et al. for isothermal physical absorption. For all the experiments the absorption rate and the outlet liquid temperature are calculated by use of the apparent diffusivity obtained from the equation of Fujita et al., and these agree with the experimental values.
