The authors analyzed forced oscillation of superposed fluids in a rectangular tank, and present the results such as the velocity potentials, surface elevation, interface elevation, and natural frequency, in this paper. The results provide useful information to determine the dimensions of a open tank by assuming surface or interface motion, to calculate the pressure acting on the tank wall and to estimate the free surface effects on the tank motion, such as the rolling of tanker.
