The Yuyo-Maru No.5 is a 34,072 kilo-ton motor tanker equipped with a Hitachi B & W 1274VTBF-160 type turbo charged diesel engine as propelling machinery. She is the first motor tanker in the word equipped with 12 cylinder diesel engine of 15,000 BHP. The results of the official sea trials and also her maiden voyage verified her excellence in all respects.
