Galley is to be reasonably ventilated considering complicated problems, such as heat generated from its equipment, fresh air necessary for crew, combustion gas, stench of cooking, temperatures of open-air and galley, surrounding conditions, etc. Among these problems, of the most importance is relation between the heat generated from galley equipment and the temperatures of open-air and galley. The author measured these temperatures on some vessels using automatic temperature recorder in August. He has, by heat balance calculation, got relation between air change and tempevature difference. He also has studied many other interesting problems on the title.
