Abstract

To design properly the piping equipment in engine room, it is necessary to have good knowledges on its actual conditions. But, about the most necessary kinds of valves, especially JIS valves, there are little datum even for the most fundamental resistance coefficients. And at present we can not but rely on resistance coefficients of Europian valves different from JIS in design. So the authors have been engaged in preliminary experimental researches on 11/2 in pipes and 40 mm valves for low pressure pipe lines, to examine inlet length, friction loss coefficients of straight pipes, the influence of directions and intervals of valves upon resistance coefficients. Then they made clear actual conditons of pipes and valves for low pressure pipe lones.
