Abstract
In 16 (10.2%) out of 157 cases with persistent HBs-Ag carriers, antibody directed to a different subtypic determinant of HBs-Ag was detected. These results showed the possibility that even persistent HBs-Ag carriers had been infected with the other subtype of hepatitis B virus and raised antibody againist heterologous subtypic specificity.
