Abstract
The item of this study was early diagnosis of liver tumor accompanying with thorotrastosis. For this study, we followed 5 patients over 2 years. Two out of 5 patients developed to cholangiocarcinoma and malignant hemangioendothelioma respectively, and one patient was discovered cavernous hemangioma in liver. The case with cholangiocarcinoma had partial hepatectomy and he is alive now. As the useful examinations for the early diagnosis of liver tumor accompanying with thorotrastosis, there were biochemical tests and imaging tests. Increased levels of γ-glutamyltranspeptidase, alkaline phosphatase and indocyanine green retention test are available. For the existent diagnosis, liver scintigraphy and abdominal computed tomography are available, and for the qualitive diagnosis, ultrasonographic examination and angiography are available.
