Abstract

On the purpose for theoretical fire endurance rating of building members and for theoretical heating property rating of furnace, it is important to know the heat transmissions relating to the fire endurance test. This paper deals with the following three kinds of heat transmissions.
(1) the transmission on exposed surfaces of the member ; - heating property of furnace is largely depended on this transmission -
(2) the transmission on boundary faces of hollow in the member ; - this decides the adiabatic properties of the hollow -
(3) the transmission on unexposed surfaces or colder one of the member ; - this decides the cooling properties on the surfaces -
Remaining some incomplete branches, the laws of the mechanisms for these transmissions have been already established fairly well on the whole. Practically applying the laws, the author attempts to analyze the heat transmissions relating to the fire test, mainly as to heat transfer coefficients, and compares those with results of experiments.
