Abstract
AIM: The intergenerational program of an elementary school which is located in Tama district in Tokyo was analyzed in the relevance to the course of study. The relationships between the contents of the intergenerational program and the concept of the subjects were examined by this, too.
METHOD: We investigated the record of the practices and stored materials of the contents of the activities of an elementary school which were collected from May 2014 to August 2015,and the contents of the course of study.
RESULTS: An elementary school in Tama district in Tokyo implemented the intergenerational program called "Satomago system" with the elderly care facility in the region over a period of approximately a quarter of a century. With this analysis and study, these practices were found to be incorporated into the curriculum in Living Environment Studies, Social Studies, Home Economics and Special Activities. Although there is no direct description of intergenerational exchanges in the course of study, it is suggested that these practices relate to Home Economics in the junior and the senior high schools and have the relevance to Moral Education in the elementary schools . From these considerations of the contents of each subject and course of study, we examined the challenges for the theory of the intergenerational programs in the future.
