A spinal plate of the pectoral fin of placoderm was found from the Middle Devonian Nakazato Formation near Higuchi-zawa in Oofunato-shi in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. It is a dorsoventrally compressed element with jagged edges on its lateral margin. It is the second placoderm and it might be the first representative of arthrodiran placoderm from Japan.
