Abstract

Researches on a local suction on sides of a three-dimensional square cylinder has been conducted in several studies. However, the points of pressure measurements were so limited that detailed information on a local suction could not be obtained. Moreover, the effects of a moving and space average on the peak wind pressure coefficients have not been understood. Thus, the purpose of this paper was to investigate the characteristics of a local suction on a side wall. First, the results of LES high-resolution computation were validated by these of a wind tunnel testing. Then, the area of a local suction was investigated. Finally, the effect of a moving and space average on the area of a local suction were discussed.
