AN AUOPSY CASE OF CADAVER WITH SALVARSAN STOMATITIS

Abstract
A woman aged 62 suffered from salvarsan toxication after 13 injections and showed clinically edema of the face and under parts of legs, severe ulcerative stomatitis and pigmentation of oral mucous membrane. The doctor gave up injection of salvarsan and treated her with various methods for salvarsan toxication, but she died at last after about two months. We dissected this corpse and obtained folowing findings. 1) Marasmus. 2) Fatty degeneration and atrophy of liver. 3) Nephrosis. 4) Ulcerative stomatitis and pigmentation of oral mucous membrane. 5) Bleeding of palms and under parts of nails. 6) Arteriosclerosis. 7) Dilation of right ventricle. 8) Dilation of stomach. 9) Adhession of right pleura. 10) Malformation of right lungs (2 lobi). 11) Regressive changes and dark braun pigmentgranulas in liver, kidneys, suprarenal body, heart muscls, brain and spinal cord. 12) In gingival tissue and tongue, degeneration or necrosis of epithels, perivasculary inflammatory cells emigration and pigmentation in the submucosa were seen. 13) Degenerative change of N. mandibularis were recognized.
