Abstract
This case report describes the resolution of systemic symptoms in a patient through comprehensive dental treatment targeting occlusal dysfunction and incorporating integrative medical approaches. A 57-year-old woman presented with occlusal discomfort accompanied by various systemic symptoms, including neck and shoulder pain, numbness in the arms, headaches, insomnia, xerostomia, and frequent urination. Clinical evaluation identified bilateral anterior disc displacement of the temporomandibular joints and mandibular deviation due to premature contact on the left mandibular second molar. Stepwise occlusal adjustment was performed based on diagnostic models and wax-up analysis. In addition, integrative body alignment therapy and lifestyle modification were provided. Following occlusal stabilization, all systemic symptoms showed marked improvement. No recurrence was observed after final prosthetic restoration. This case suggests that the combination of occlusal therapy and integrative postural treatment may contribute significantly to the improvement of systemic symptoms.
