The mortality rate of tuberculosis in the aged was continuing to increase even after the advent of chemotherapeutics, despite of the marked decrease in the younger age group in Japan. Beside the proportion of prevalence or incidence of tuberculosis by age has become higher in the aged than in the middle aged or the younger.
