抄録

It has been already said that there is a close relationship between the tubercle bacillus and the higher bacteria, actinomycetes.
My deceased father Tatsusaburo Vabe cultivated tubercle bacilli which were first isolated from the sputum of the tuberculous patients, on saponin media generation after generation, and they gradually lost their acid-fastness and changed into the form of a so-called strepthotrix: completely non-acidfast, thin thread-like form with numerous true branches. He designated these strains TV₁, and TV₂.
