Survey about How Academic Researchers Acquired Scientific Digital Image Manipulation Skills

Abstract

Since the Adobe Photoshop was launched in the market in 1990, everything is in place for easy manipulation of digital images. However, in the meantime, some cases of manuscripts are reported containing inappropriately manipulated image data to be submitted to journals. How researchers in academic institutes learn the skills for image manipulation? Here, we report the results of survey about the issues among faculty and researchers of 40 and more academic institutes.
