Abstract
We made a comparison between young old residents aged from 65 to 74 and old old residents aged over 75, 403 residents, to analyze the risk factors relating to falls and fall-related fraction by discriminant analysis (stepwise method) using muscle power, pain, moving range of joint, walking power, bone density, blood pressure, visual acuity, anamnesis, subjective symptoms and IADL as independent variables. The results were as follows. 1. The risk factors of old old residents for fraction after fall were right low back pain, pulmonary symptom and systolic blood pressure. The factors preventing for fraction were sight defect, right shoulder pain, preexisting hypertension and right low back pain. There was no significant correlation between bone density and fraction. There was no risk factor of young old residents for fraction after falls. 2. The risk factors of old old residents for fraction were right low back pain and systolic blood pressure. The factors preventing for fraction were right grip power. The risk factor of young old residents for fraction after fall was left arm abductor power. The factors preventing for fraction was 10m walking speed.
