Abstract
The Present paper aims at investigating the historical meaning about the change in quality of Japan Amateur Athletic Association (J. A. A. A.) by the reorganization in 1938. The following results were obtained. 1 . The intentions of this reorganization were with the purposes of the preparations for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1940,and of becoming the body to contribute to improving the physical strength of the Japanese people. 2 . As a result, J. A. A. A. started to reorganize and to carry on the activities according to these intentions. 3 . This reorganization gave the chance that J. A. A. A. became the enforcement body for the sport policies of the Government. 4 . And that was the first stage of the establishment of the Greater Japan Physical Education Association.
