A purpose of this study is to examine how the leadership or follower's self-asserting influences the human relation between a leader and a follower. Four factors (technical coaching, absolute management, control of the human relation in his group, and ability to command his group) constitute the function of the leadership. The leadership was classified four groups (absolute leaders, laissez-faire leaders, active leaders, and democratic leaders) by the method of cluster analysis. And self-asserting was classified according to the degree of marks (higher or lower than the average mark) . Subjects are 207 male students who are currently active in extracurricular athletic clubs in junior high school. This research was conducted by the questionnaire method. Significant results were as follows : (1) a follower, who asserted himself strongly, was very satisfied with his leader. (2) followers were more satisfied with active leaders or with democratic ones than absolute leaders or than laissez-faire ones. These results may suggest that follower's self-asserting is one of important factors affecting the human relation between a leader and a follower, too.
