Abstract

The fine structures of spore walls of two species of Frullania belonging to the Subg. Chonanthelia, Frullanla neurota and Fr. Wallichiana, were observed by electron microscope (JEM-50). The results are as follows : 1). By optical microscopic view, spores of these two species were polyforate and only slight diffefences could be seen between those of the other members belonging to the other subgenera which have been observed so far. 2). No distinct differences could be seen in the size, external shape, color and thickness of exine of the spores between these two species by optical microscopic observation. 3). The number of foramina on a diameter was a little more in Fr. Neurota (6(7)8) than in Fr.Wallichiana (4(5)6).
