Abstract
We reported that BODIPY derivatives 1 showed intense fluorescence in region over 630 nm. BODIPY derivatives 2–4 which have various substituents at 6-position of indenopyrrole moieties have been newly prepared. Their absorption and emission maxima were red-shifted relative to 1. BODIPY 3 and 4 showed pH-dependent fluorescence due to intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) and emitted in near-IR region over 750 nm. The properties of 5 having pyridine moieties will also be presented.
