Abstract
In order to clarify the structure-function relationship of carotenoids bound to LH1 antenna pigment-protein complex from purple photosynthetic bacteria, we performed the re-association experiments using a synthetic carotenoid analogue, 3,4-dihydroanhydrorhodovibrin. Spectroscopic properties and energy transfer efficiency from carotenoid to BChl a are described.
