Abstract
To develop a novel gas sorption material based on "light" organic crystal, we previously demonstrated the syntheses, molecular and crystal structures, and gas sorption properties of nitrogen-bridged calixarene analogues (azacalixarenes). In the present study, azacalix[4]arene tetramethyl ether has been newly synthesized, which exhibits the selective uptake of carbon dioxide in gas sorption experiments performed at low temperature. Discussed here will be the sorption state of carbon dioxide on the macrocycle on the basis of the successful X-ray crystal structure solution.
