Abstract

We synthesized a variety of cyclic oligothiophenes via McMurry coupling reaction from linear precursor. We report here the synthesis and properties of the molecules with 12, 18, 24 and 30 thiophene rings. The structure of cyclic 12-mer was determined by X-ray analysis. The spectral properties of 12-, 18-, 24- and 30-mers will be discussed in detail.
