Synthesis of Substituted Propeller-Shaped Tris(tetraxisdehydrobenzo[14]annulene)s

Abstract

We synthesized propeller-shaped tris(tetraxisdehydrobenzo[14]annulene) (tris[14]DBA) and from the X-ray singlecrystal analysis of tris[14]DBA it was found that the unit sell contains P- and M-enantiomers. However, its optical isomers have not been isolated probably because of low barrier for the ring inversion. We have report the synthesis of tris[14]DBA with the substituted group containing diastereotopic protons to measure the activation energy of the ring inversion.
