Reactions of resistant soybean varieties to soybean mosaic virus (SMV) and soybean stunt virus (SSV) were observed by inoculation with the viruses by means of sap or grafting. It was considered that the resistance of 3 varieties to SMV attributes to inhibition of virus translocation within plant, while that of 7 varieties was considered to be hypersensitivity. Resistance of 2 varieties to SSV was immune, and that of 4 varieties was hypersensitive.
