Abstract

Toxicity of permethrin to the horn fly, Haematobia irr itans (L.) was studied by contact method to insecticide residues, to obtain the fundamental assessment of efficacy of polyvinyl ear tags impregnated with permethrin against the horn fly. The KC-50 (50% knockdown concentration) after half an hour treatment showed 84. 75μlm/cm2. This value was higher than that of BPNIC, and lower than futarthrin and fenitrothion.
