Abstract
The degree of injuly of four species of carabid beetles, Anisodactylus signatus, Poecilus planicollis, Amara chalcites Pterosticus haptoderoides, were estimated within a temperature range from 12 to 40°C. A. signatus hardly injured a block of radish at any temperature. The other three species caused severe injuly within a range from 15 to 30°C, both males and females. The degree of injuly of P. haptoderoides, however, was lower than the other two species. Because the difference of values from 15 to 30°C was little, it is supposed that these carabid beetles used radish root more as a food than as a water supply.
