Abstract

In this paper, I discuss one of the methods to guide a learner in computer-based education such as elearning. Many learners must use not only one suitable application but an operating system and learning management systems in learning activities. These systems have help-function but the functions are independent of each other. The functions which help learners with some troubles in the whole educational flow have not existed until now. Although some teachers draw up a work procedure instruction sheet with some images and provide it to learners, some of them are still be not able to do their learning operations.

One of the most important works for teaching assistants (TA) is to support such learners. However it is difficult to place TAs in many classes and all self-learning scenes. The aim of my research is developing an intelligent single agent system, and I examined the framework and the methods of implementation for the system. The following is the outline of my fundamental ideas. At first, we prepare the work procedure instruction sheet which teachers drew up and the basic knowledge about operations of PC. Next, the system presumes the causes of learners’trouble by using the information about interaction with the learners and the result of matching during their desktop image on PC and the images on the sheet. Finally, the system displays an active image popularly known as a “desktop mascot”and makes it point at the place where the learner should look at and give advice about what the learner should do next. In this method, the system can help the learner automatically in any learning environment by replacing the sheet and the knowledge. In this paper, I worked up my presentations of the research at the National Convention of IPS

2012, 2013 and 2014, and I added the newest results and considerations.
