Abstract
Cancers, fibrocystic diseases and fibroadenomas of the breast were studied biochemically with respect to the activities of alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase, beta-glucurouidase, latic dehydrogenase and malic dehydrogenase.
Activities of all enzymes were higher in mammary cancer than in normal mammary tissues, As for difference by histological type, papillary and papillotubular carcinoma showed higher activity of beta glucuronidase and alkaline phosphatase than scirrhous carcinoma.
Activities of alkaline phosphatase and beta-glucuronidase were higher in fibrocystic disease than in normal tissue and fibroadenoma.
As to enzyme activities in serum of patients with breast cancer, beta-glucuronidase was relatively increased in activity, but other enzymes varied in normal range.
Effects of regional perfusion in cancer tissue were shown as fall of activity of latic and malic dehydrogenase.
