A new genus of the subtribe Rhizotrogina (Scarabaeidae, Melolonthinae, Melolonthini) from East Asia

Abstract

A rhizotrogine new genus, Cephalotrichia, is proposed for Holotrichia sichotana Brenske, 1896 and H. murzini Keith, 2006, and the former species is designated as the type. A key to the species is shown. Holotrichia koraiensis Murayama, 1937 is synonymized with Holotrichia sichotana Brenske, 1897. Comparison of the new genus with some related genera and a species group revealed that this new genus is most allied to Rufotrichia.
