This study examines the expansion of Japan's international public relations in the 2010s, focusing on activities led by the Cabinet Office's Public Relations Office. Analysing administrative project reviews, it reveals a significant rise in costs and diversification of methods during this period. The research provides empirical evidence of the quantitative and qualitative growth of these efforts and situates them within a broader strategy to promote understanding of Japan. It emphasises the importance of strategic international communication in enhancing Japan's global influence, a topic often overlooked in domestic studies of government public relations.
