Abstract

This study examines the current status of internal communication in Japanese companies through a web-monitor survey (n=1082). The results showed that many small- and medium-sized companies have not established a corporate philosophy and have not implemented internal communication. The study also examined whether internal communication can be said to influence employee behavior. Those who reported that their employers had adequate internal communication also scored higher on the Employee Performance Scale in a multivariate analysis that took into account company size, educational background, and other factors.
