Abstract
A driving simulator study was implemented to investigate effects of differences in system response to other vehicles (following or changing lane) on trust in an automated driving system. Visual information on automated driving strategy towards other vehicles was considered. The results based on exploratory data analysis demonstrated that effects of visual information may be varied according to driving scenes. Trust was varied according to driving strategy and driving conditions towards other vehicles. Generally the same driving strategy towards other vehicles for automated driving as manual driving led to increased trust, however the same strategy as manual driving led to decreased trust depending on driving scenes.
