Abstract
This paper describes the present conditions of computer education in the United Kingdom in order to seek a clue to future computer education at Japanese universities. Specifically, Stantonbury Campus is chosen as an example of the primary and secondary education, and the Open University as the higher education.For the primary and the secondary education, Japan is compared with the United Kingdom in terms of the computer education curricula. Both Japan and UK aim at training of information technology(IT) capability. In respect to IT capability and two examples, computer education in the university is considered to change their concept from computer literacy to computer communication and computing as educational media in the near future.
