In this study, information education in an integrated environment was investigated. Junior high school students visited kindergarten pupils and created software which the students designed to be useful for the everyday lives of the pupils. This educational activity was at first difficult for the students who have had little experience of producing things for others. However, the students became active and had a wider view of information technology use after they found themselves welcomed by the kindergarten pupils. The students showed a tendency to increase their confidence in the usefulness of their software and their planning skill through the activity. Meanwhile, the evaluation by the students suggested they needed trial and error to understand what the pupils really wanted. The majority of the comments from the students said they preferred a learning style where they had to create their own ideas for the software in comparison with the ordinary information education class style where they are taught what to do.
