Abstract
In 2011, English Activities become compulsory in elementary schools. Therefore, many elementary and junior high schools are trying to corporate to develop the collaborative teachers’ network to improve the curriculum coherence. In precedent researches, however, the physical constraints within the busy school schedules are pointed out. This lack of opportunities to share is a main cause preventing teachers from gaining mutual understanding and commitment, which are necessary for successful collaboration. As a person in charge of the grant project of Taisho−Higashi junior high school district area in Osaka, I considered the effective utilization of the ICT would solve these problems. Based on the Social Capital Theory to develop teachers’ network, I utilized the ICT on the stages step by step to further its maturity. After one and a half year's practice, the effective use of the ICT was found to play a key role to develop the network. The ICT improved mutual understanding between teachers, promoted the awareness of the members, and furthermore, contributed socially by sharing the products of the project.
