Abstract
Recently, CD-ROM software which feature "Interactive Multimedia" edutainment materials has swiftly come to the fore and now account for a large percentage of all Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI) materials. It has only been in last few years that "Interactive Multimedia" edutainment materials have become a sizable issue in the language-learning field and in the future it is very likely to become a more sizable issue. In this paper we would like to examine some case studies on the impact of interactive multimedia CD-ROM software on learners' English vocabulary. This CAI material has various study modes. However, only three types of game modes were utilized. These game modes provide learners with fundamental interaction patterns through a basic "right or wrong" KR (Knowledge of Result). In the end the exam data was gathered and put into the binomial test format or the McNemer's two by two contingency table and we found a significant progress in learners' vocabulary.
