In this article the outline of our activity in "Japanese Map of Germination" Plan(JMGP) will be reported. It was planned as a part of 100-School Networking Project that is granted by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and Ministry of Education in Japan. As the activity of JMGP many school children of various places in Japan sowed the seeds of the same kind of plants at the same time and grew them. They mutually reported the growth of their own plants. In this plan we aimed to promote children's cognitive and affective learning through cooperative learning by Internet. It seems that this plan was carried out as a kind of pilot study and it will provide some useful and fruitful suggestions for us.

The purpose of this practical research was to examine the roles of media and community in learning through playing. We made a circle in our university to make integrated arts of music and computer graphics (CG). Elementary school children and their parents participated in the activity. We expected the children to use computers as tools of creation and to be familiar with English by listening or singing popular songs. It was shown that CG software works as a very attractive medium in a creative activity like this. Listening to English pops was also popular. However, some children did not like singing English songs. Many of the mothers tended to become absent in the program. These and other problems are presented, and their solutions are discussed.

Recently, CD-ROM software which feature "Interactive Multimedia" edutainment materials has swiftly come to the fore and now account for a large percentage of all Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI) materials. It has only been in last few years that "Interactive Multimedia" edutainment materials have become a sizable issue in the language-learning field and in the future it is very likely to become a more sizable issue. In this paper we would like to examine some case studies on the impact of interactive multimedia CD-ROM software on learners' English vocabulary. This CAI material has various study modes. However, only three types of game modes were utilized. These game modes provide learners with fundamental interaction patterns through a basic "right or wrong" KR (Knowledge of Result). In the end the exam data was gathered and put into the binomial test format or the McNemer's two by two contingency table and we found a significant progress in learners' vocabulary.

Text oriented learning is a fundamental method for understanding English, even in the case of using CALL system. Multimedia tools, however, are auxiliary for learners who require environments for considering concepts in English expressions. Using text processing tools before translation which convert Hypotaxis to Parataxis, machine translation system can assist the learners to understand syntactic patterns of English sentences. The learners input the following products into text files: polyglots that are outputs from the machine translation, descriptions cited from references such as electronic dictionaries and concordances, and footnotes of their own. Thus, they can build up their own original database to enable them to realize various kinds of English expressions.

The Internet that expands in explosive speed is introduced immediately in NPOs/NGOs. Developments of the network and the organizations have much relevance each other historically and they also have the same points of spontaneity, globalization and horizontal relationship. Though many organizations adopt the Internet, they don't make the most use of it. This remains as a problem to be solved. International NGOs(INGOs) that are engaged in international cooperative activities have similar tendency among the NPOs.In our thesis,we reveal the INGOs'present situation and significance of using the Internet through our investigation and other researches. Finally we conclude that the Internet can be not only media to exchange information effectively and smoothly but also media to reform our society darastically.
