Abstract

Abstract The productivity and the quality evaluation (color, sugar content and pollen grain in honey) of honey from Gejkwo"ecpfkecpu(echium honey) harvested 2012 were investigated in order to confirm the repeatability of echium honey harvested 2010. Moreover, the sensory evaluation experiment of the semantic differential (SD)method for the purpose of presenting the index of the utilization of echium honey was done. The productivity of echium honey was estimated to be 101,000 kg・ha-1. In comparison with other domestic honey (acacia honey from Tqdkpkc"rugwfqcecekc and apple honey from Ocnwu"rwoknc), the color of echium honey was brighter than acacia honey and apple honey. Also, the sugar content (Brix) was higher than acacia honey and apple honey. These findings were consistent with the characteristics of echium honey harvested 2010. There were fewer counters of pollen grain of echium honey than acacia honey. In the sensory evaluation of SD method, the image of echium honey had peculiar, persistent, bitter and rough taste which were compared to acacia honey. Multiple regression analysis showed that the indicator of palatability associated with the non-persisting and high-grade factor. In the present study, the production of echium honey from Gejkwo"ecpfkecpu confirmed the repeatability and the characteristic of echium honey were shown.
