Abstract The productivity of honey from Echium candicans( Echium candicans honey) harvested 2013 was investigated in order to the repeatability of Echium candicans honey harvested 2010 and 2012. Moreover, the comparison of color and sugar content with honey from Echium vulgare( Echium vulgare honey) of New Zealand origin. The productivity of Echium candicans honey was estimated to be 125,666㎏・ha-1 . The color of Echium candicans honey was brighter than Echium vulgare honey and the sugar content of both were similar. These results were consistent with the characteristics of Echium candicans honey harvested 2010 and 2012. In this study, the productivity of Echium candicans honey confirmed the repeatability and the characteristics of Echium candicans honey were shown. Moreover, the possibility of the production of monofloral honey as a main honey source of Echium candicans was suggested by installing the honeybee( Apis mellifera) hive around the flowering Echium candicans under cultivation.
