Abstract
In order to clarify the role and future tasks in the regional contribution of the public open of on-campus Echium garden, a questionnaire survey was conducted to 117 visitors. Most visitors were women over 60 years old living in neighboring areas, and many of them were two or more persons. With regard to public sources of information, newspaper is the main source, and our official website was only slightly. Many visitors have a clear participation purpose, and mostly due to cultivated Echium candicans in on-campus garden. With regard to feedback, “increased knowledge of the Echium candicans” is high percentage, which showed that the event almost accomplished the purpose. In addition, half of visitors had refreshed by the public open of on-campus Echium Garden. Most visitors hoped to participate in the next event. Furthermore, it was suggested that the public open of on-campus Echium garden functioned as publication of Koshien Junior College. As the future tasks, the service for the elderly person, method of the publication and utilization of the volunteers were shown.
