The relations of the mechanical properties to the reduction of area of 18 Cr : 8 Ni stainless steel wires were studied. The measured properties were tensile strength, elongation, elastic limit and torsional strength, and used specimen's reduction of area was 0, 10—15, 30, 60 and 75 per cent.
