The activity of saliva phosphatase was investigated by the “Filter paper method” when an oral examination was carried out for workers at a “Oil and Fat Factory” in Tokyo city.
It was observed that the young male group showed statistically a lower activity of alkaline phosphatase than the young female group. This result is entirely same with that observed by Takei with patients at a dental office.
The relation between the activity of saliva phosphatase and calculus, number of dental caries, and number of crown was also observed, but no significant relation was obtained.
