This is a simple method of obtaining the coordinates of a reference point marker without spending a lot of time or money, even for beginners with no surveying skills. The small terrain included buildings, roofs, trees and iron poles in the vicinity, making the area unsuitable for flying a drone. The first surveying method used was to prepare a compact box with a number of marker labels attached, and to record the coordinates of each marker on a scale. Photographs were then taken with the camera around the small landforms, taking care to ensure 60-80% overlap. The photographic data was then analysed by software and the measured distance between two points was compared with the distance calculated by the software to compare the error near the reference point marker with the error at a distance. The results showed that the average error near the marker was 0.190 mm and the average error at a distance of approximately 3 m from the marker was 5.67 mm, indicating that the error near the marker was small and the error increased as the distance from the marker increased. In other words, it was found that a small area of about 5 m square can be surveyed with an accuracy of about 5.6 mm at the edge of a dense area with obstacles that are difficult to fly over with a drone.
