Abstract

The authors have designed the crossed, double figure-of-eight wiring (CD-8 wiring), which was compared physically with other types of wiring, and it was confirmed that the method designed was the strongest. Operative procedure is as simple as the ordinary figure-of-eight wiring and a firm fixation of the fragments is secured. The authors recommend CD-8 wiring for treatment of fractures, for which figure-of-eight wiring would originally be indicated.
